Current social media apps do a bad job of helping public figures differentiate fans who have serious inquiries from fans who are just time-wasters. We help you put a paywall on your DM so that only very serious people will contact you; and you also get to make money.

If you are a prominent person in public, you may have closed your DMs on various social media apps because of the endless stream of messages from fans. You will have a hard time filtering the serious messages and inquiries from the time-wasters and giveaway seekers. This just renders the DM as an undependable source of business leads and high quality conversations. What if there was a way to prioritise the serious inquires so you can attend to them immediately. That's what Talkroom does. We enable users to pay you to chat so you can only talk to serious people.

You can use Talkroom to let upcoming musicians pay you to hear their demo tracks. Let new startup founders seek your legal counsel. Take special queries from your students on your off hours. Let eager fans pay to hear your voice. If you think someone will pay to talk to you, use Talkroom to charge and talk to them.

Talkroom has no control over how much you charge fans to talk to you. We only encourage that you set a price in relation to just how much in demand you are within your fanbase. If too many people are paying to contact you, you can increase your price. If too few, you can reduce it.

When a user pays to talk to you, it comes as a message request that you can accept or decline. If you decline, the request is cancelled and the user who requested is refunded. If you accept the request however, you and the other user can exchange an unlimited number of messages for a period of a week. These messages can be texts, voice notes, pictures, videos and links. Once the one week period is over the chat window closes. The user has to pay again if they want to talk to you for another one week period.

If you will be away from your phone for an extended number of days, it's best that you designate your status as 'Not Available' so that users are not able to make new requests to you. Find this feature on the settings page. You should also decline all pending requests so you don't keep your fans weighting. Note that users write reviews and leave ratings on your profile; so always be on good behaviour.

Yes. Every Talkroom user can pay to talk to others or have others pay to talk to them. We do not have separate accounts for influencers and fans.

They don't if you do not want them to. You can go to any user's profile and exempt them from paying to contact you. That means that when that user wants to talk to you, they don't have to pay anything no matter what your current fee is. This status is maintained till you un-exempt the person.

All money users pay you is settled exactly after 1 week. The money is settled into a USD balance but you can withdraw to Bitcoin or GHS, NGN, USD, XOF, XAF, UGX, KES as you please and at your own timing.
